I recently started a new exercise program, and getting my body into shape has come with some very unwanted muscle aches and stiffness.
Now, getting in shape is hard enough, but lately it seems to be coupled with a few of those days. You know those days. The days that, from the minute you get up, to the minute you close your eyes, are a disaster. Those days when the kids are arguing about this or that all day, there’s an unexplained flood through the living room ceiling, and the cat deposits hairballs all over the new bedroom carpet.
I’ve had my share of those days lately, and they seem to be tougher since I’ve started my new exercise program. As I get older, I’m noticing a bit more daily pain and stiffness that make getting through a workout and a tough day a little bit harder than I’d like.

Take a nap
Sure, this may be a luxury, but if you can squeeze in even a five minute nap, it can do wonders.
It’s so easy to become dehydrated, that it’s worth a second or two to drink a glass of water. I’m surprised how often it helps!
Don’t be afraid to get a little help
Some days, a nap, water, and even taking a break, just won’t cut it. And honestly, most days I don’t have much time once I’ve squeezed in my new exercise program and daily commitments.
