We’ve been buying Silk Cream Cashew on and off for a few years now – here’s our Silk Cream Cashew review.

Silk Creamy Cashew Review

2019 update, after buying it for a few years! Here’s what we think about the flavors, texture, and aftertaste.

  • it has a nice, silky consistency
  • a very creamy consistency
  • there’s a slight, greyish color
  • a slight aftertaste – it’s mild, and not bitter
  • it leaves a slight film on my tongue

It’s no secret we love nut milks! Learn how to make homemade Brazil nut milk!

I find that like any nut milk, the homemade version is absolutely delicious, and without any of the aftertaste that store bought nut milks have.

That said, there are times it’s a royal pain in the butt to make our own nut milk.

I do really like the option that brand like Silk are making it easier to have a dairy free diet, if you choose.

Silk introduced Silk Creamy Cashew milk, available only in Canada, back in about 2014.

Over the years, we’ve picked it up occassionally, so I thought we’d share our thoughts here.

I’m a huge lover of cashews, so Silk Cashew was a natural fit.

Check out this review below – she definitely has a similar opinion, I think!

So how does Silk cashew milk measure up?

Loving Silk Creamy Cashew
Loving Silk Creamy Cashew

I really liked my new Silk Creamy Cashew. It’s got a rich, creamy, sweet taste that I enjoyed drinking ice cold.

Cashew milk is dairy free, so it’s wonderful for those with lactose intolerance.

I love that Silk Cashew Milk has 33% fewer calories than skim milk (only 60 calories per serving), but as much calcium as dairy milk.

You can use cashew milk in smoothies, in your morning cereal, or even in homemade ice cream recipes.

I enjoy Silk’s almond milk and soy milk, but occasionally find myself wanting something with a creamier texture. Silk Cashew Milk is perfect for creamier recipes, such as ice cream and mashed potatoes.

What does Silk Creamy Cashew taste like?

For a store bought cashew milk, it’s pretty good. The consistency is great – it’s creamy and smooth. I do find there’s a bit of an almost artificial aftertaste, but that’s pretty mild.

Overall, it’s good enough that we buy it a few times a year as an alternative to time consuming to make homemade nut milks, or store bought almond milk.
