Happiness hacks for the busy woman

Life is finally starting to settle down here a little.

It’s been a crazy busy time, between buying and renovating a house, moving, the kids starting school, family stuff, and just life in general.

In all that craziness, I realized I’d forgotten some key things.

Like spending a little time on me, to keep me happy and energized.

But that’s life isn’t it? We’re all busy, and taking care of ourselves falls between the cracks a lot of days.

So here it they are… our five fast happiness hacks for the busy woman.

Get it out by writing it out

It has been shown that keeping a journal can help one become more self aware and build more positive emotions. Schedule time each day to jot down your thoughts and feelings, even if it is just for five minutes.

Share happiness

Spreading happiness and your happy thoughts and feelings can make others happy, which in turn will make you happier. It’s a cycle that doesn’t end! At least once a week, call or text a friend or relative some happy news- even if it is something as simple as a funny story about your kids or a great deal you got at the grocery store. The little things are what matters most, after all, right? This method has been proven to significantly increase social bonds and personal happiness.

Think blue

The color blue has been proven to increase awareness, promote calm, and make one feel generally happy. If you want to be a happier person, focus on the color blue once a day for at least three minutes. If you are facing a particularly stressful day, wear the color blue. Paint your office blue, or decorate with blue in your home.

Workout at least 15 minutes a day

Getting physical boosts chemicals in the brain that reduces stress levels and makes you happier. It can also make you feel better about yourself and abilities, which will make your happier and more confident in your every day life. Pair this with the right amount of sleep, proper nutrition and more water and you can’t go wrong! Plus, you will be healthier and what’s not to love about that?

Get outside

Fresh air really does clear the mind, which makes it easier for you to focus and reduce stress. Lower stress levels make you happier. Vitamin D boosts the “happy” chemicals in the brain and your immune system, so you will be healthier with just a quick walk around the block each day.
